Chris Romero (b. 1987, New Brunswick, New Jersey) is an American artist based in Fukuoka, since 2019. Working across painting, sculpture, and illustration, his artworks comment on themes including memory, digital culture, and everyday life. In addition to his visual art, he is the character designer for the NHK program ゾンターク:おどりのほし.

He has exhibited his work throughout Fukuoka and has created several murals in Haruyoshi Ward. This autumn he will present new ceramic sculptures at Munakata Miare Art Festival, and will show new artworks in two solo exhibitions, “Dungeon” at Tetra Art Space (Oct 28 - Nov. 6) and “Item Shop” at Tenjin Tsutaya, Fukuoka One Building (Nov 1 - 30).

Prior to living in Fukuoka, he participated in artist residencies in Tokyo and Seoul, and worked as a curator in New York.
